In spirit of the viral Jesus videos and worship I'm listening to I felt a need to write.
Jesus Christ, a baby born of a virgin, sent from God. The God that made us from the dust of the earth, who blew his breath and made our souls. How amazing is God truly. Someone who put his hands forward and created a universe we have become so perplexed about. It has taken us thousands and thousands of years to figure out that there were other galaxies like ours, and God simply spoke it and it was there. I can't even imagine the infinite wisdom of God. And with his wisdom he chose to create humans who he could share heaven with. And he designed us so perfectly, so intricately. He designed us to feel, to choose, to breathe, to move in such perfect ways. And as soon as we were made we were flawed. God knew he would need to come down and help us with this simple life we find so difficult.
So the gospels became life. God sent himself, a perfect being in the form of flesh. He sent himself through his son Jesus, who lived a pure and perfect life. He was kind, wise, and genuine. He traveled and healed and talked to anyone who listened about his father God.
To me, Jesus is not just some fascinating prophet. He is my savior, my redeemer, my helper, my example. To know that he would die on a cross after being beaten with whips, just to help the innate sinners that we are. To say "we know not what we do, forgive us" as he is being spat on, by us. All my sins, all my faults hang on that cross, and he's shedding his blood on them, covering them with love and mercy and grace. No man could ever do what God has done for me, for us.
That is the God I love, the merciful King of the Universe, who simply just wants a relationship with us, because he wants to spend eternity with us. I love love love God.
